Blean Angling Teams of Four
10th February, Round 3
Lavender Farm Old & New 35 Pegs

Lavender Farm

A sharp frost had everyone thinking that this may be a bad day to be fishing at Lavender, for some it was, for others it was a reasonable day, some even had a good day.

Matrix were the team of the day fielding two subs. They gathered the top score of the day with the aforementioned subs both picking up 10 points.  Well done to Ray Fell and Kevin Dyer who made the most of their draws in A & D sections. I did invite Bob Nudd to fish for my team but Andy Cox turned up instead, well better luck next time I guess.

One of the closest scraps of the day was on C section where Dan Warman 23.9kg, fishing the end peg towards the middle of the left bank just edged out Bob Richards 21.8kg  who had the other end peg of the section. Most of Bob’s fish came from behind the reed bed separating pegs and he had to guide the fish out and round the bed before playing them to the net.

With the lead teams all recording lower points than normal and Matrix with 2 wins and a 2nd took the lead with 2 matches to go there are only 4 points separating the top 4. It should be a good scrap for the title this winter. Down at the bottom of the league Ex Cottington crept a little closer to Bobs Mob. The wooden spoon could go to either if we had one. Can anyone think of a good name for Ex Cottington? Suggestions to Rob or Dan.

Many thanks to all those who helped out with the pegging and weighing. See you all at Cottington in March.
