Blean Angling Teams of Four
Summer Series Round 1, Monks Lake 2 40 Pegs, 11th May 2008
A fine early summers morning found us back at Monks Fishery for the first leg of the summer series. We had booked Lake 2 just for a change. We welcomed our new team NDP10, led by well known West Kent angler Charlie Chalner along with the revamped Super Team, Spot-On, and Led by the experienced Ray Fell.
There were a few changes to other teams. We welcome back Tim Greenfield from his short break also joining us fresh from taking the shop league apart is James Young, he might find things a little different here.
With a stiff easterly breeze fishing was never going to be great and it was A & B sections that returned a joint top weight. Bamber and Dan Warman both weighing in 41.3 kgs, Andy Piper snatched a section win on C section with 31.8kg and new boy on the block Charlie Chalner took D section with a creditable 23.7kg.
It gives me no pleasure whatsoever to highlight the dismal performance by the angler representing our other new team in this section, to hide his shame I will not name him but a little RAY of sunshine FELL on the writer when he found he had beaten this well known angler.
Team Greg lead the table after the first leg but Tim Greenfields Ringers gave notice that they want a piece of the action, the bottom of the league had a more familiar feel with Bobs Mob playing their usual supporting role.
