Blean Angling Teams of four
12th August round Four Lavender Match Lake

Well what can I say, another Sunday another match. We all were eagerly awaiting our return to this venue which can show so much promise. Would you believe me if I said the most interesting thing that happened was Helen riding her bike and that was after the match!

To be honest it seemed like everyone was keeping their head down in case I found something to write about them, the fishing was that bad even I scored 2 points and just so people think they had got away with it, Coxy where did you get that hat? And you may have been very quiet beneath the reeds but I did notice your 2 points Mr West.

On a more serious note, C section had the best of a bad day; at least they were away from the road bank and the day ticket section which enabled the weights to be slightly higher.

Moatrix Invicta had a slight stumble this week failing to win a section but taking two good 2nds. Probably the tightest section match was that between Martin (nice hat) Walters and Mr Paste (better known as Bamber) only 250g separated these two at the scales. It was interesting to watch the way they both winkled fish out from their swims, with Bamber’s 11kg taking the section and helping to close the gap between them and Moatrix Invicta at the top of the league.

The points were well spread out amongst the leading teams with Kerry Davis, John Warman and Trev Lee taking the other sections. It looks like there may yet be a fight for the finish. Many thanks to Derek Hope for standing in at extremely short notice and thanks yet again to Steve and Joe for their help.

See you all at Monks in September.
