Blean Angling Teams of Four, Summer Series
Final Match, Cottington Match Lake 14th October, 34 Pegs

A fine autumn morning saw us gathered at Cottington for the final match of the summer series. Our numbers seriously depleted by ill health, holidays and retirements, but undaunted we pressed on and had ourselves a fishing match.
Bob proceeded to give everyone a lesson in how to mess up the best peg on the lake. At least he did manage to get some fish out of the water. Once again it was a member of Moatrix that showed us the way, with Craig Palmer weighing in 31.5kg to take his section and seal a series win which was well deserved.
Craig was also top individual point’s scorer just edging John Warman out on a count back of section wins. Unity tackle made a late bid for fame with 2 section wins for Ron and Richard but with Kerry and Andy unable to find them fish they had to settle for third place in the series. Team Gregs consistent points scoring over the series gave them a well earned 2nd place.
Special mention this month to our Celtic Warrior Rab who fished on his own to keep the sprit of competition going and managed his best score of the series.
At the time of writing Moatrix had yet to decide which charity to donate their trophy money to but Team Greg would like there’s to go to Odyssey (Trevs Charity) and Unity wish to donate to Macmillan nurses I will sort these out as soon as possible. Many thanks for your generosity lads.
Thanks to all those that helped especially Andy Cox who as we know is more at home in a bivvi these days and the idea he had to walk to the other side of the lake to weigh some of you in had him foaming at the mouth, Andy its called exercise mate it wont kill you.
See you all next series.
