Blean Angling Shop League 07/08
Round 3 Cottington Match Lake, 24th February, 28 Pegs

Our first visit of the year to the Cottington complex and once again the match organiser got it wrong, the cafe was closed, but this time we could smell the heady stench of frying bacon and sausages. It seemed to be oozing from the lean-to next to the clubhouse a quick check showed us that our sense of smell wasn’t playing tricks, enough said about that, walls have ears you know.
Well I suppose you want to know about the fishing, well it was typical Cottington; some pegs struggled some fished well. Best performance of the day was Richard Eyre’s 38.850kg from peg 8 with some quality sized fish, however Richard is not in the point’s race this time around and it was Ray Fell who took top points with his 26.200kg.
Paul Gilbert splashed his way to second place with 23.00kg. Another consistent performance from Thanet’s James Young 20.100kg kept him firmly at the top of the league.
Another notable performance was that of Roger (scale-shy) Greenfield who actually managed to weigh-in
For once, keep it up Roger a win may be just round the corner.
Many thanks to all those who turned up and to those that helped out.
