Blean Angling Winter League Round 3
25th February, Chilham Match Lake, 28 Pegs
A dryish morning with the threat of lots of rain to come saw the usual suspects turn up at this changeable venue, not knowing what to expect. Even those that had had a practice session or two knew that the lake would change with the pressure of a full match.
The wind had a mind of its own and most pegs suffered in some way or another. As things were quite spread out it was difficult to know how the catches were going. The usual rumours about this peg doing well were flying about but the weigh-in would tell all.
A larger group than normal followed the scales to see how they had fared against one another. There were a few who had no fish at all but as a whole, weights were lower than expected.
A new name at the top of the weights this month…well done to Phil Webber who won by nearly 2kg. Good job really, he will need the prize money to replace his broken section and his landing net handle. It must be linked with these new super boxes because Rab also had a section break. Mark will be busy on the phone next week sourcing spare parts no doubt.

A new name at the top of the pile this month with Dave Elliot taking top spot in the league with Dave Manning snapping at his heels.
Other highlights include the new landscaping partnership of Wright & Mills; many thanks to those two gents who spent there own time cutting back swims to make them all fishable. Rumour has that they give discounts for Oap’s.
