Blean Angling Shop League
Round 4 Hartleylands Nick’s and Bramley, 30th March 29 Pegs.

Bramley's Lake

Bad weather we can cope with, lack of fish we can understand, but no breakfast just about takes the biscuit or not as was the case when we arrived at our most westerly venue.

Obviously the rumours about the future of the fishery have put the caterers off. We still managed a good turnout. The draw caused its usual moaning and groaning but this time we had a unique twist… our friend Mick waited until last, had a quick look at what was left and handed the bag to Paul the bailiff and said “You pick one then at least I will have someone to blame” that about set the standard for the day, with low weights and a few Dnw’s.

It was Thanets James Young who found the fish. He ended the match with 21kg, over 8kg more than his nearest rival. James used both pole and feeder to land a good net of small carp. Dave Silman was 2nd with 12.8kg on the feeder just edging out Steve Foreman on Bramley who finished with 12.7kg.

Other notable catches were Joe Richards who landed over 200 small roach and a solitary carp for 5.4kg. Tim Greenfield did much the same thing but had a few more carp for10.4kg. Mick Wright managed to winkle out a couple of good lumps from his end peg.

The fish again proved stealthier than Ray Fell who could only find just over 4kg from one of normally favoured pegs.

James is the man you all have to catch, short of tying him up I don’t think there is much chance of that. See you all at Chilham for the final leg. Thanks to those that pegged out, as you well know it’s a thankless task.
