Blean Angling Teams of Four
Final Round 8th April 2007, Chilham Match Lake.

Teams of Four Winners
The usual pre match breakfast at the sportsman was a lot busier than normal. It seemed like most of the teams had at least one member present, so the banter was off to an early start.

With the weather holding fare over the last few days, a good days fishing was expected. But as usual Chilham had a sting in its tail. All those that had fished on Friday as a practice thought they were on to a good thing but the fish had other ideas. There were a few blank pegs about for one reason or another. The best excuse being from Andy Cox who told his team captain that as it was a bank holiday weekend, he didn’t think we were fishing, all this from the safety of his bivvy overlooking Stonar.

But I digress; things were happening at the match lake… some anglers actually started catching fish! Despite the odd blank and a few low weights it really was shaping up to be a fight to the finish, but then Ben Smith stopped catching so he started singing. Enough to put even the hungriest fish down.

A storming return to his old team by Steve Warnette who happened to be back for the Easter break and was called in to help out.  A good 2nd in section coupled with Ray Fell consistently scoring over the series helped Matrix to a slim 3 point victory over Moatrix MG our new team to this series. Well done the Ashford lads, in fact they were in the top 3 of 3 sections, with Ricky E just being edged out of first place in the favoured D section by a mere 450g by Micky Wright .

A special mention must go to Dobby who drove up from Eastbourne to make up the numbers which he did in style with a section win for Team Greg.

The final placings can be found on the result sheet.

Other notable events… well where do we start? There are rumours that one of our anglers was caught flashing, is he preparing for his next victim?

Fishing Flasher!!

And congratulations to Rab he fished a match without breaking anything.

Once again many thanks to all those that helped through the series and those that turned out at short notice. Also a special mention to my wife for putting up with my cursing while I one finger type these reports and results.
