Blean Angling Teams of Four
Rnd 5, Monks Lake 1, 32 pegs, 9th September
All out to Monks for the penultimate match in the summer series, unfortunately a lot of our anglers either forgot or were unable to attend. Never mind a little thing like the equivalent of 2 teams missing is not enough to stop us. We would carry on as if they were there at least for the draw anyway. Bob decided to try something different with the draw, he thought it worked well. Steve thought it was a disaster maybe we won’t try that one too soon.
The lake was very low compared to when we last fished it but it still looked tempting. Following the whistle most pegs produced a few fish straight away, others took their time. The end result was all too familiar with Moatrix Invicta taking three sections, with Team Greg Snatching the other section. There seems to be no stopping Moatrix this series with both Lee and Craig smashing the 80kg mark. These lads are dishing out a master class in consistent match fishing and they are a pleasure to watch if you get time.
We should not forget that Lee fished the last 40 minutes minus his number 5 section following an incident with a passing car. No it didn’t get run over, Lee moved it a bit quick and it broke but cars are not supposed to be driven round during matches are they.
