Match 2, Monks Lake 1, January 2008
First match of the New Year saw us at the monk’s complex. A few faces were missing, some old friends returned and some were being detained elsewhere.
The winner today was always going to be the weather with very strong winds making presentation almost impossible. John Warman fishing with his back to the wind mastered the conditions for a hard fished 14.8kg. Top weight of the day went to Craig Palmer with 18.5kg from favoured peg 23 who led the charge from the Moatrix Invicta outfit, which only dropped 2 points.
Look out; the charge to the finish has begun if you let them get away now you will never catch them!
Well done to all those that turned out on a real rough day. The only saving grace was that it stayed dry.
